Astraeos is a map steeped in Greek mythology — over 264 square kilometres of marble cliffs, mountain ridges, white sand beaches, cherry blossom groves, ancient ruins and sacred temples. Studio Wildcard has now closed that odyssey with version 1.0 and its most ambitious expansion yet: Heaven and the Abyss.
The update adds two brand-new regions — one high above the landscape, one far beneath the surface — a new ship type, a new creature, two Kraken Ascension boss fights, two minibosses and a batch of new cosmetics. Our Astraeos server (PvE) is already running v93, so everything in this article is available on it.
Heaven and the abyss — two new regions
Helianthos is a medium-sized island of towering mountain ridges, open flower-filled plains and peaceful creatures. Flying islands hang high above the landscape — the only way up there is by air.

Abyssanthos is a vast, fog-shrouded deep-sea expanse hiding a mythical underwater city. It holds enormous underwater air bubbles — which means you can genuinely build a base far below the surface.

The ocean is no longer just the edge of the map
The Trireme is a new ancient warship, available to anyone who owns Astraeos. It arrives together with dynamic rolling wave mechanics and new weather events — the sea turns from a passive boundary into a restless, shifting frontier.

The Shipyard and the various ship ammunition types can now be crafted with Astraeos ownership as well. The Shipyard can also be switched into “Galleon Mode”, reconfiguring it to support the larger vessel. The ship HUD now has a rudder direction indicator.
New creatures
The Boaratos is a massive, fiercely aggressive and scorching boar found exclusively on Astraeos. It comes with its own Spartan saddle as an unlockable cosmetic.

The Concavenator is a ruthless pack hunter that swims beneath the dunes and ambushes prey with aerial attacks and blinding sand clouds. It has been added to Scorched Earth, Ragnarok, Extinction and Astraeos, to Genesis as the X-Concavenator and to Aberration as the Aberrant variant.

Bosses and minibosses
Two new Ascension boss fights against krakens have been added: Abyssalus the Void Beneath underwater and Shallocis the Void Above at the surface. Defeating both awards maximum player levels. A new Boss Terminal on the western side of Astraeos was added for them.
Alongside them come two new minibosses — the immense Colossus and the ferocious Kroaratos. Miniboss loot now also includes the Grand Tortugar Saddle.

New rewards and cosmetics
Two new Apex drops have arrived — Astral Souls and Hex Coins — together with six new cosmetics to unlock:
- Agamemnon Helmet
- Boaratos Spartan Saddle
- Divine Sword
- Divine Spear
- Divine Shield
- Trireme Chair
The update is not only about Astraeos
The Galleon is a new naval titan for owners of the Tides of Fortune DLC — designed for extensive fortress-style base building and a devastating battery of cannons built for catastrophic broadside barrages.

Genesis has gained three new Ocean Outposts (Brimstone Bay, Chained Megachelon and Market Port), and Land Outposts have appeared throughout the islands of its Ocean Biome: 20 different pirate camp layouts to clear out and loot. Sometimes you will instead run into a friendly Market Camp, where neutral Pirate Merchants sell goods at a discount.
